Kim is one of only 14 mountaineers worldwide to have reached all 14 summits without oxygen. These 14 peaks, which are more than 8,000 meters above sea level, are also known as the "eight-thousanders." Kim succeeded in scaling all 14 Himalayan peaks in 07 years, 10 months and 06 days. He broke the world record of 07 years, 11 months and 14 days set by Jerzy Kukuczkaby of Poland. It was a great honor that Mr. Kim Chang-ho decided to climb two peaks in Indian Himalaya with us in 2017. These peaks were Dharamsura and Papsura situated in Himachal Pradesh Himalaya. During the entire expedition he was cool and calm, enjoying every situation and finally taking his entire team to the summit of Dharamsura 6446 meters very successfully. There were several memorable incidents and logistic challenges we have faced during this expedition and all have become extremely learning moments for us for our future endeavors in climbing business.
Dharamsura (6446 Mt), which is also called WHITE SAIL because of its shape,is situated in Himachal Pradesh. The trek route to this start from Tosh village near Manikaran through two camp night halts till base camp. Generally one can find ponies and porters for this trek till BC. Dharamsura Peak is close to Papsura Peak and these two peaks are divided by a ridge of about two kilometers where the Tosh glacier is left on south and the Bara Shigri glacier in the north. Both of these mountains are not very popular among climbers simply because the peaks in this section of Indian Himalaya are rarely promoted. It is believed that the ridge between these two peaks is yet unclimbed. Since we have climbed it with world’s most popular climber Kim Chang- ho, so we eventually offer you the best support if you wish to try it.
